Whether you write, film, sing, or speak, we want to hear what you’ve got to say.
  • Jaymez: "From finding somewhere—like a motel room—that is cheap enough so we can get a few days or finding one that will rent by the hour so we can nap and shower. Basic things like having a meal or having somewhere to store or personals safely. With all these things it's seem so simple to some, but for some like me that have past trauma and mental health problems it can seem overwhelming."
  • Wanda: "I am a grandmother. I've been homeless since 2000. I have dreamed of having my own place where my grandbabies can come over to play and I could cook them dinner. I've been giving up on that dream. I only hope that one day I can say I have my own place thanks to the help that is out there. Thank you for letting me tell my story and I only pray for a bit of good news."
  • Sharaye: "I lost my Mom three years ago. Now I have no place to go. I've been sleeping in my car for about a year. I stayed in Long Beach for a few months, but I would end up spending my whole check with nothing to eat. I thought about giving up, but my Mom keeps popping in my head and says, "You're a fighter, not a quitter."
  • DJ Distance: I know they know my secret Yet not my story if I tell it Weakness will exude from my eyes My only strength is then to close them Praying that tomorrow will be better Tomorrow

Your Voice Matters

Which is why we’re asking you, “why do you care about ending homelessness in Los Angeles?”

Stories have the power to tear down walls. They can challenge us, inspire us, and remind us of our shared struggles and humanity.

It doesn’t matter if you are a neighbor, an activist, or someone who is currently unhoused. We are all one community, and we want to know what brought you here today.
