As a response to the countless number of individuals living on the streets of LA, contemporary artist, Francesca Lalanne, created a new body of work that render their experiences, consisting of large scale paintings on drywall. The uniquely framed paintings are presented with audio outputs via media players that record excerpts of her interviews and engagement with these individuals. Act of Healing reveals the emotional conditions and narratives the people Francesca met, visually yet poetically. Her figurative work outlines the isolated spirits of her subjects, demanding the viewer to confront their reality. This special exhibition is also fundraiser.
A portion of proceeds from ticket and art sales is to support nonprofit organizations serving the homeless community.
