Criminalizing homelessness is both harmful and counterproductive. Encampment sweeps and anti-camping ordinances are cruel and actually work against our goal of ending homelessness by further destabilizing people living outside. These practices destroy property, sometimes including vital medications, create more trauma, and limit people’s access to services.
