SUMMARY:East L.A. Supportive Housing Open House
DESCRIPTION:Come show your support for a new supportive and affordable housing community in Unincorporated East LA. The developer – National Core – is seeking community input on a proposal for new affordable housing opportunities\, but because of fierce opposition the project could be killed. \nWhile we are in the midst of the greatest humanitarian crisis in a generation\, we are calling on all east side advocates to stand up and say yes to housing solutions that end homelessness. We’re asking all of our advocates to show up and make sure their voices are heard. We won’t let a small\, loud group of people stop progress towards ending homelessness. \nShow your support. DESCRIPTION:Advocates needed! \nHousing trailers are coming to provide much needed temporary shelter for families experiencing homelessness in the Crenshaw/Expo area. \nWe need you to show up and support parents and kids who do not have stable housing. We’re asking for volunteers to work with Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care Services (HOPICS) to prepare this temporary housing so that it is available as soon as possible. Volunteers will help with site setup\, assembling kids’ play-sets\, and preparing the units for families to move in. \nSign up here and you’ll hear from us soon! \nYou can also donate directly via the Safe Landing Wish List which includes toiletries\, cleaning supplies\, and other household items. Access the Wish List here: www.amzn.to/2vMLnd8.
