Linc is proposing to build 56 apartment homes for seniors experiencing homelessness. \nFriday\, November 8\, is their first public hearing. We need as many positive voices there as possible to say a short positive statement. \nLos Angeles and the entire county are experiencing a homelessness and housing affordability crisis and we have a shared responsibility to help people out of homelessness through the creation of supportive housing. \nThe City of L.A. Planning Department will record the number of statements for and against their proposal. Everyone from Wilmington\, San Pedro\, Long Beach\, Lakewood\, Signal Hill\, Harbor City\, Torrance\, Carson and other surrounding communities are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:As a response to the countless number of individuals living on the streets of LA\, contemporary artist\, Francesca Lalanne\, created a new body of work that render their experiences\, consisting of large scale paintings on drywall. The uniquely framed paintings are presented with audio outputs via media players that record excerpts of her interviews and engagement with these individuals. Act of Healing reveals the emotional conditions and narratives the people Francesca met\, visually yet poetically. Her figurative work outlines the isolated spirits of her subjects\, demanding the viewer to confront their reality. This special exhibition is also fundraiser. \nA portion of proceeds from ticket and art sales is to support nonprofit organizations serving the homeless community. \nFor more details and to reserve tickets click here. \n\nFri.
